FAQ
-
What can I expect to get out of therapy?
There are many benefits to engaging in therapy. Some of these include: gaining a better understanding of yourself, clarifying life goals, improving personal relationships, developing coping skills, and boosting self-compassion, not to mention having a safe and supportive space in which to talk about hard things. The benefit that you obtain will ultimately depend on how committed you are to the process.

How is therapy different than talking to a friend?
The relationship between client and therapist is unique. If you have friends or loved ones whom you feel comfortable opening up to, that’s wonderful! I’d encourage you to keep that communication going. However, it may be difficult for a loved one to remain unbiased, point out blind spots (we all have them), or challenge you in a supportive way.
Therapists can provide a safe, non-judgmental space in which you are able to explore, grow, and feel more empowered to manage day-to-day stressors, cope with difficult emotions, and make intentional choices.
-
Do you see clients in-person?
Eros is fully virtual. All therapy services are rendered via telehealth, using a secure and HIPAA-compliant platform.
If you are located in a PSYPACT-participating state (please see list of participating states at https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap), we’re able to work together.
-
Does telehealth work?
Yes! Numerous studies have shown that telehealth can be just as effective as receiving services in-person. Not to mention, it’s much more convenient.
-
Do you take my insurance?
At this time, I am considered an out-of-network provider, meaning I do not work directly with insurance. You will receive a monthly “Superbill” automatically; you may submit this bill to your insurance provider to seek out-of-network coverage.
-
What's your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, I ask that you give 24 hours notice. Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice requires payment in full.
-
Do you prescribe medication?
I am not a psychiatrist, so I do not prescribe medication. However, if you are interested in medication, I’m happy to assist with referrals to medical providers.
-
Will what we talk about remain confidential?
Confidentiality is critical, as successful therapy requires a high degree of trust. With few exceptions, the material that is discussed between us will not be shared with anyone else without your permission.
Of note, therapists are legally mandated to make certain disclosures in cases where there is suspicion of harm to oneself, harm to others, or neglect or abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult. Any such disclosures would be discussed with you in advance, this would not come as a surprise.
-
Can we talk before I commit?
Absolutely! I understand that the client/therapist fit is incredibly important. I encourage you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation if you are interested in services, this way you can get a sense if we may be a good match.
